Dental benefits for a small business on Long Island: every plan, every price

A dental membership costs $325 to $649 a year per employee and includes two cleanings, exams and X-rays at a specific Long Island practice, with 10% to 40% off any work beyond that. Group dental insurance costs about the same but adds a waiting period, a $1,000 to $2,500 annual maximum, and a network. Fourteen practices currently take employer-sponsored members through Upsurance. The employer sets a yearly budget; each employee picks the practice nearest them.

How it works

1You set a budget

Pick a max per employee for a doctor and a dentist. The page shows which local practices fit.

2Each employee picks

They choose their own doctor and dentist from that list. No network cards, no claims.

3One invoice a month

Itemized per person. You pay what each person actually picked. Start or stop any month.

Common questions

What's included in a dental membership?

Typically two cleanings, two exams, X-rays, and a discount on fillings, crowns and other work. Each practice publishes exactly what its plan includes; the list shows it before anyone picks.

Is there a waiting period?

No. Memberships start the day the practice confirms enrollment.

Is there an annual maximum?

No. The membership covers preventive care outright and discounts the rest. There's no cap that cuts off halfway through a crown.

How is dental billed?

Once a year per employee, on the anniversary of their enrollment, on the same invoice as your monthly doctor memberships.
